Manhole Rehabilitation
Old age and microbial induced corrosion reek havoc on manholes,
creating everything from minor leaks to a major failure. Fortunately, Great
Lakes TV Seal is able to save you money and headaches with rehabilitation of
manholes. Our targeted systems will provide the best fix for specific problems.
Great Lakes TV Seal provides:
-
PERMAFORM®- the best system for complete replacement of old manholes without
digging or disrupting flows. The process pours a seamless and structurally
independent "manhole-within-a-manhole" that provides a safe, cost-effective and
long-term solution to serious manhole problems. When biogenic or chemical
corrosion is the problem, a thin plastic liner is embedded into the
structurally independent concrete wall. All inlet and outlet pipe connections
are sealed to the liner.
-
PERMACAST®- an engineered cementitious liner for manholes that is
centrifugally cast from a patented robotic applicator. A dense and uniform liner
is applied at whatever thickness is best suited to the condition, depth, traffic
loading and ground water pressure of the existing structure. Consistently
high-quality is guaranteed since it does not depend on a person applying it from
inside. Formulations are high-strength, quick-setting and corrosion-resistant.
For microbially-induced corrosion, Con(mic)Shield, an anti-bacterial agent that prevents
growth of thiobacillus bacteria, is added directly to the mortar. For chemical
corrosion, COR+GARD epoxy is spun on to form a thick protective barrier.
Each material is applied safely and uniformly from above the entry.

-
RELINER® -
extends the life of existing manholes and cuts down on maintenance by improving
hydraulics. Compatible with all rehab wall linings, and
requiring minimal service interruptions, RELINER is a good choice for
rehabilitation. For new installations, RELINER is a good choice because it
reduces maintenance, turbulence and odor, offers a full depth channel, is
adaptable to most field conditions, and can handle internal drops.

-
Casting removal and replacement- with a state-of-the-art
drill, manhole casting, road and debris can be removed in a matter of minutes.
-
Chemical grouting- the most effective way to stop
infiltration, this method forms a watertight seal that extends into the soil
around the manhole, and will adapt to both wet and dry soil conditions.
